After completing her degree in Art History/Archaeology from the University of Maryland, Lisa worked in visual arts administration for regional non-profits. She got the pottery bug after taking an evening class, leaving the office world for a 3-yr apprenticeship. In 2003, she struck out on her own, setting up a little studio next to her 1845 house in historic Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. It’s nearly impossible for her to avoid unearthing potsherds while working in the garden, and she loves knowing that in making of her wares, she continues an historical tradition. A long-time fan of the Waterford Fair, Lisa welcomed the opportunity to work behind the scenes as the Foundation’s Fair Assistant in 2018-19. Valuing creativity and resourcefulness, she appreciates the rewards experiential learning affords and is excited about her new role as the Education Associate. She looks forward to developing opportunities for folks of all ages to learn and share their make by hand skills both here and online. She enjoys spending her free time tackling house projects with her partner, taking long walks, and volunteering as a WV Master Naturalist.
