Description: Learn how to create a basic chain link, that can be reproduced and embellished for infinite variety. You are encouraged to bring beads, pearls, pierced gemstones, charms, coins and pendants you have collected and always wanted to make into something beautiful. Treasures from your travels are especially fun to incorporate. Linda Van Hart’s expert advice and encouragement will set you on the path to creating your own elegant necklace and clasp. Begin by making a pair of French wire earrings so you can practice balling wire with a torch, select your beads, and get the satisfaction of making something totally original rather quickly. Linda will have silver, brass, and copper wire, and a broad selection of beads and gemstones for you to purchase for your designs.

*Please note:  there will be an additional materials fee payable to the instructor in class (approx. $25 – $125 depending on your selections.) Please wear natural fibers and closed toe shoes; bring a sketch book and pencil, any toothless (smooth-faced) pliers you may have, and your collection of beads to consider. If time allows, students may make more than the earrings and necklace.
