Description: Campers will explore the world of fiber arts, with hands-on opportunities to create a variety of projects! Each day will include time for creativity, education, fiber arts-related storytelling, and overall fun with fiber. Campers will try their hand at hand spinning wool yarn, felting, weaving, quilting, and cross-stitch. There will be an opportunity to meet some fiber-producing animals, up close and personal!

Instructor Bio: Susan Withnell has been hand spinning and weaving for over 20 years while running her fiber arts business, Ewes-Ful Fiber Arts. She raises high percentage Wensleydale sheep (known for their excellent spinning fleeces), alpaca, and angora rabbits on her Maryland Farm. She is a Waterford Landmark Artisan, and earned the distinction of being the 2020 Waterford Artisan of the Year for her commitment to the Waterford Fair and its educational mission. As an elementary school teacher, she started a fiber arts club for her students, and since retiring, teaches fiber arts summer camps for children and classes for adults.
