Whirligig Based on 19th Century Period Design

Saturday and Sunday July 11-12, 2020
Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM
Sunday from 9 AM to 3 PM
2-Day Class
Old School, Waterford, Virginia

Students will be given an actual size template drawing of whirligig to be made. They will cut out sections of drawing to use as pattern on wood to be cut out and carved to make whirligig. There will be some bending of wire to attach to paddle arms. Students will learn the painting process which they might have to finish at home.  Whirligig will be mounted on block of wood for display. 

Lunch and snacks are provided on both days

Tuition:  $300 for 2-day class

Material Fee:  All materials and tools will be provided with payment of $75 materials fee.

  • Use a pattern to cut out and carve wooden whirligig.

  • Use bended wire to make paddled arms.

  • Learn and begin painting process in class
