A twill weave is use to create a diagonal line in your basket. Students will be weaving two classic Shaker Cathead Baskets with a twill pattern. The Cathead was one of the most popular baskets made by the Shakers. It gets it’s name from its appearance when turned upside down…..the corners resemble cats’ ears.
Students will be weaving 10” and a 12” basket. They will learn to lay out the base, shape the ears, chase weave the sides in a twill pattern and lash the rim.
Lunch and snacks will be provided on both days.
