Saturday and Sunday May 2-3, 2020
Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM
Sunday from 9 AM to 3 PM
Old School, Waterford, Virginia

Instructor will describe the local, indigenous use of soap stone by Native Americans to create cooking containers fragments of which have been found in this area.  Emphasis will be placed on creating a contemporary sculpture to model a concept then carving stone with a mallet and chisels will be next.  Finishing will be done with files, sandpaper and lastly, wax.

Lunch and snacks will be provided on both days.

Tuition:  $300 for 2-day class

Material Fee:  $25 All materials and tools will be provided except lightweight gloves (gardening) and eye protection (shop glasses)
