Making a Floorcloth — from Start to Finish


Part of our American heritage, with origins from France in the early 1400’s.

July 11, 2020, One day (Saturday)
The Old School, Waterford, VA

  • Well made floorcloths will protect the floors, provide a dust free environment and are insect and pet resistant.

  • Table size cloths are able to tolerate dishes from the microwave as well as hot beverages and wax dripping from candles.

  • Beginners welcome!

Instructor: Grace Rochford

Class Length:  One day

Date: Saturday, July 11, 2020

Time: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

No. of Students: Minimum: 5, Maximum: 10

Tools:  Students should bring to class: a blow dryer and t-square

Additional: Take home a 2 X 3′ hemmed Floorcloth

Description:  Participants will learn how to prepare a raw piece of canvas, floorcloth history and construction, design creation and stenciling technique.
