Backyard Medicine Using Common Herbs

Students will learn about using herbs to create salves, oils, soaps, teas and tinctures. Also, learn about herbs you might find in the wild and those that you may want to grow in your own garden!

  • Learn about different herbs that can be used for medicinal purposes and and how to store them.

  • Learn about herbs you can find growing wild, and herbs you can grow yourself.

  • Learn how to use herbs to create medicinal products.

Instructor: Jessie Baker

Class Length:  Two day

Date: Saturday, July 13  9am — 5pm;  Sunday, July 14 9am — 3pm

No. of Students:  Minimum: 3, Maximum: 15

Tools: Students should bring a notebook.

Description: Learn how some plants we can use grow commonly around us and often are known as “weeds”.  Students will learn to harvest, dry and store herbs in a variety of ways. Then they will learn what to use them for as they make their own teas and tinctures to take home.
